We didn’t see this coming just yet. Somehow..Samsung Omnia M (we covered it some time back) has made it’s way to Indian shores via a Snap Deal offer. Samsung unveiled Omnia M in May this year – announcing Europe launch initally. Well, it’s up for pre order in UK, according to IntoMobile . Samsung Omnia M is essentially a mid level smartphone competing with the likes of Lumia 710, Lumia 610 and Samsung’s very own Omnia W in different markets. In India, Omnia M is being sold at Rs Rs 17990 which makes it a direct competitor to it’s old cousin Omnia W and Lumia 710 (which are priced around 15,000 Rupees). Samsung Omnia M has a larger screen when compared to Omnia W while it’s RAM is significantly less (Omnia M was called an entry level Windows Phone from Samsung, unfortunately the price tells a different story). Take a look at specs of Samsung Omnia M here .
Will I recommend this device at this price? Probably not. However, the launch of Omnia M may affect the price for Omnia W(which is quite a phone for mid range) – this should help Samsung keep things going smoothly in the Windows Phone arena to compete with recently launched Lumia 610.
